Choose a book and chapter

Use the Bible reader to open the passage you want to read. The text is the King James Version. Navigation and layout can differ between Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

Start narration

Use the audio controls available in your build to start, pause, or resume. Character narration uses consistent voice profiles. Playback can continue between chapters using the recordings available in the installed audio library.

Check your device’s audio output

If you cannot hear narration, raise media volume and check the selected speaker, headphones, or Bluetooth device. Pause and resume after switching audio output.

Audio availability depends on your build

The narration and chapters available on your device depend on the installed app build and offline voice pack. An app update and an audio library update may be separate steps.

Offline narration

Keep the voices
close by.

On iPhone and iPad

Genesis 1 is included. In the updated iPhone and iPad app, open Reading settings, select Mac Character Voices, and tap Download complete audio. The one-time download is about 4.95 GB and needs an internet connection and enough free storage. Once all 1,189 chapters are available offline, the same prerecorded character voices play across all 66 books without internet.

You can cancel a download and resume later; completed chapters stay saved. If you delete the iPhone or iPad app, download or import the audio again after reinstalling. The offline chapter count shows what is ready to play. Earlier builds and users with a separate voice pack can still use Import Audio Library folder from Files. A pack stored only in iCloud must finish downloading before import; allow storage for both the source pack and the installed library.

On Mac

Use the audio library supplied for your Mac build and its supported installation flow. Keep the app and library together as directed by the release instructions; moving or renaming individual audio files can make chapters unavailable.

After installation

Play a short passage before relying on offline listening. Downloaded or imported recordings play from your device, without a remote audio-generation API. Keep a copy of an imported source pack if you may need to reinstall it later.

If a download or import fails

For a download, check your connection and free storage, then use Retry or Resume; completed chapters stay saved. For a Files import, confirm the pack is fully available on the device and intended for your app version. Keep the original source pack and contact support with the error message. Avoid changing files inside the pack.

Common questions

Keep your place.

Why is a chapter silent or missing audio?

Check the offline chapter count in Reading settings. On iPhone or iPad, Genesis 1 is included; use Download complete audio to add the remaining recordings. A cancelled download keeps completed chapters, and Retry or Resume continues it. If a downloaded or imported chapter still will not play, include the book, chapter, device, app version, and any error message when contacting support.

Will listening continue into the next chapter?

Continuous playback uses the chapters available in your installed audio library. With all 1,189 chapters downloaded on iPhone or iPad, you can continue from Genesis through Revelation. If playback stops, check that the next chapter has audio and that playback remains active.

Why do voices sound different on another device?

Select Mac Character Voices on both devices and use the same prerecorded voice-pack edition. The complete download preserves those recordings and their character voices. Device narrator is a separate option using installed Apple voices, which can differ between devices.

Can I listen without an internet connection?

Installed recordings play locally. On iPhone or iPad, complete Download complete audio before going offline, or import your full voice pack from Files. Confirm 1,189 chapters are available offline and test a passage first. The app downloads the recordings from Apple; this website does not host them.

I heard a missing or repeated word. How do I report it?

Email the book, chapter, verse, and a short description of what you heard. Include the app version and voice-pack edition if available. This helps identify the exact recording without changing its character voice unnecessarily.

Does Unreal Bible collect my reading or listening history?

The app does not send reading history, listening activity, or offline recordings to a server. Any local preferences or saved progress stay on the device. See the privacy policy for details.
